What:
~ Tiger Hall offers a very wholesome and organic approach to educating a child's body, mind and creative spirit. Ready Set Go! Kinder Prep is a small and intimate mixed ages, half-day or full-day program serving ages 3 through 6 years and it is designed to prepare your pre-school aged child for kindergarten. Because of our small and nurturing environment we are able to cater to each child's individual learning needs, providing the perfect bridge from toddler-dom to kindergarten. Circle time lessons, daily outdoor trips (weather permitting), free and discounted weekly enrichment classes and play time are incorporated daily. Our head teacher is a Princeton University Alumna.
Curriculum:
~ Here at Tiger Hall we believe that the most important part of any education is the part where we learn to think critically. Our philosophy is that a child who can think critically can overcome any future academic challenge, whether it be interpreting Shakespeare or decoding calculus! We believe that all children, regardless of the differences in their learning styles, have the ability to comprehend any new concept, especially when these concepts are taught in a way that caters to visual, audio and kinesthetic learners alike. With this in mind, our curriculum is designed to not simply teach children random facts about the world around them, but to encourage them to begin to think critically, to reason and to ask questions about the world around them. For instance, our children at Tiger Hall can not only tell you where Iceland is on a map, they can also tell you that occasionally the sun never sets there. The most important thing, however, is that they understand why this sunset-less phenomenon occurs!
On a weekly basis our engaging and creative curriculum introduces concepts in a manner that seamlessly integrates play, art, nature, music, gross motor development, unstructured creative expression, pre-reading skills, math problem solving (pre-addition/pre-subtraction), world geography, cultural studies, handwriting/pre-handwriting skills, world languages, science discovery, social etiquette and more. In addition to instruction time and free play, children enrolled in Tiger Hall's Kinder Prep Program take free and discounted weekly classes, most taught by outside professionals, in the areas of art, reading readiness, ballet/tap and music (2011-2012 Roster Of Classes will include: Hummingbird Art, Kids Music Round, Salta, My Gym, German Circle Time, Ready Readers and more! Classes subject to change depending on demand.)

Meal-Plan
For those children who remain at Tiger Hall for lunch there is an optional organic/natural meal-plan available. Depending on the length of the child's stay, a typical day may include breakfast ($2.00), lunch ($2.00) and snack ($1.00). Children not enrolled in the meal-plan can choose to bring meals and snacks from home.
Fixed Rate Plans versus Hourly Care Plans
These are the two childcare plan options available to all enrolled families. Fixed Rate Plans are great for families with fixed schedules, while Hourly Care Plans may be more desirable for working parents with childcare needs that fluctuate from week to week. Fixed Rate Plan options and prices are listed below. Families who choose the Hourly Care Plan option pay a flat rate of $10 per hour only for the childcare hours that they use. Programs for Homeschoolers
Our Ready Set Go! Kinder Prep Program at Tiger Hall welcomes Homeschoolers (ages 3 - 6) to take advantage of our wonderful array of midday enrichment programs, many of which are geared toward older preschoolers and young elementary age children. Families can sign up for as little as 3 hours of enrichment per week at an affordable rate (see below). In addition to wonderful social opportunities with other kindergarten-age homeschoolers, Tiger Hall's Kinder Prep Program 2011-2012 will also offers German Circle Time, My Gym, Exploring Nature Through Art Music and Poetry, Kids Music Round, Hummingbird Art, Ready Readers and more (class roster subject to change based on demand)! For a list of Homeschooler Friendly Sessions look for the code "HFS" below (these are simply recommendations). Please note that most of Tiger Hall's elementary age programming runs from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm (Mon - Thurs).
