***After School Cub Club

 

What?: A fun and educational afterschool experience at Tiger Hall for ages 4 - 10!

 

When?: 1:00pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday

 

Where?: 53 State Road, Downtown Princeton, NJ

 

Who?: All children and sibling groups between the ages of 4 - 10 years.

 

What to Expect?: A nice balance between educational and creative fun! Time for free play, homework help, educational games, free snack and more. Time at Tiger Hall includes free and unlimited access to art supplies. Customize a weekly schedule that works for your family. Transportation via car or on-foot chaperoning provided at an additional cost. A fair-priced option for working parents. Also, Tiger Hall is located just 3 blocks away from Community Park Elementary School!

 

Cost: $8 per hour for one child; $10 per hour per sibling group; $2 per transport (via foot or car)

***Ready Set Go! Preschool Play and Learn ($88 per month)

Tiger Hall now offers Preschool Play and Learn, a two-hour drop off program for children between the ages of 2 and 3 years. This fun-filled program is sectioned into segments that include free play, fitness fun, craft time, snack and a circle time that introduces concepts like shapes, colors, letters and letter sounds, numbers, counting and more. A perfect prelude to a traditional classroom setting or to Tiger Hall's very own Kinder Prep Program. Ages 2 - 3. Potty-training not necessary. Sign up at any time!

***Ready Set Go! Preschool Play and Learn ($88 per month)

Tiger Hall now offers Kinder Play and Learn, a two-hour drop off program for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. This fun-filled program is sectioned into segments that include free play, fitness fun and a one hour Reading Readiness course that introduces concepts like vowel sounds, consonant sounds, handwriting, sight words, pre-reading games, storytelling, story structure and more. A perfect prelude to kindergarten or to Tiger Hall's very own Kinder Prep Program. Also a great program to compliment half-day kindergarten or any non-academic nursery school setting. Ages 3 - 5. ***Ballet and Tap for Tots ($60 per month)

Tiger Hall offers a Ballet & Tap program for tots. This program creatively combines elements of fitness fun, dramatic play, storytelling, ballet and tap. Ages 3 - 6.

 

 

***Kids MusicRound: Music and Movement ($78 per month)
Not unlike our other programs, Tiger Hall’s Music Class aims to introduce babies, toddlers and youngsters to a world of rhythm, movement and sound. These classes will be taught and organized by seasoned professionals from Kids’ MusicRound. The Kids’ MusicRound program provides a developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood music education that is fuelled by a passion and love for children and music. Based on early childhood development and music education research, Kids’ MusicRound provides a fun-filled class environment where families come together to experience the joy of movement and music making.

Each class will feature singing, laughing, giggling, jiggling, clapping, dancing, bouncing, and instrument playing! Tots enrolled in these 10-week class sessions will receive 2 CD’s of children’s songs and songbooks with music activities. The cost of these materials is already included in the fee. Ages: Birth - 5.

Instructor: Amanda Tulumalo is a Kids’ MusicRound Instructor as well as a private piano instructor. She has a BS in Elementary Education and Music Education from The College of New Jersey and has taught music in the Montgomery Township School District. Amanda sings and play piano on the worship team at her church, where she also directs the children’s worship program. She has also played clarinet in the Eastern Wind Symphony.

 


 

***Art for Tots ($68 per month)

Our Art Program at Tiger Hall is offered to children between the ages of 2 and 5 years. Each class is taught by April Zay, the owner and founder of Hummingbird Arts LLC. The goal of our art program is to encourage children and toddlers to discover what is unique about themselves through creative play and self-expression, while at the same time helping tots develop a sense of pride in their work. Each art class is structured to follow a similar format, which sometimes incorporates a circle time, in addition to the weekly project, experiment and/or activity. Children will participate in crafts and activities that incorporate science and cultural studies as well. Ages 2 - 5.

***Ready Readers ($78 per month)

A one hour reading readiness program for potty trained tots between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Our Ready Readers are introduced to the world of reading, word decoding and letter sounds, in a nurturing environment and at an age-appropriate pace. Handwriting skills will also be a key focus of this program. Game play and learning through fun and rhyme will be the agenda for each session. All sessions are one hour long and include time for circle time, storytime, applied learning time (game time) and instruction. Instructor: Olayinka Akinlawon, Princeton University Alumna and owner of Tiger Hall, has been working with preschool aged tots for over 7 years. Her experience covers tutoring, early childhood education research and teaching pre-schoolers in the areas of pre-reading, pre-math, social etiquette, geography and more.

 


***Spanish (starting at $78 per month)

A one- or two-day kindergarten readiness program for potty trained tots between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Our Language Learners work with instructors whose main aim is to create a stimulating bilingual preschool-like environment. Our instructors are native/fluent speakers of their respective languages and have years of experience in early education. Basic language concepts, cultural studies, game play and learning through fun will be the agenda for each session. All sessions are one hour long and include time for circle time, applied learning time (game time) and instruction. Ages: 2.75 - 5.

Instructor: Pilar de Villacis is a native Spanish speaker. She was born in Ecuador, South America and has a strong background in teaching language immersion programs. She has more than five years experience working with children and introducing them to a new language in a very engaging environment.

 

 

***Cook and Play: Parent and Child Workshops - look out for monthly class times on PrincetonKids.com!

Wholesome Kids Cook offers a unique cooking class environment where parent and child explore the wonderful world of food using all-natural and organic ingredients.  From learning where foods come from to how healthy foods nourish our bodies, child and parent alike learn the value of choosing healthy foods and how to enjoy preparing and eating them together.   

 

In this hands-on class, children will learn basic cooking skills such as mixing, measuring, cutting, and kitchen safety as well as table etiquette including how to set the table!  We’ll also introduce children to recycling and composting.

 

Each session focuses on local (when available) and seasonal ingredients to connect children to how foods grow and when they are harvested.   Classes will explore a variety of cooking/baking techniques using organic and all-natural ingredients.  Our recipes have been created to provide nutritious meals and snacks for children and their families.  Wholesome Kids does not use any ingredients with high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oils, preservatives, additives or artificial colorings. Instructor: Nicole Koroghlian has developed and instructed children’s cooking classes held at Whole Foods Markets throughout New Jersey.  She also has presented programs and cooking demonstrations on healthy ways to feed babies and children, which have taken place at local moms’ groups, hospital parent programs, and Babies R Us stores. Nicole was a guest speaker at the 2009 PSE&G NJ GreenFest where she led organic cooking classes for over 160 elementary school students. 

 

Nicole holds a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University School of Social Work and has worked with families on parenting issues for over 10 years.   Nicole has combined her social work background to counsel and coach parents on making healthy changes in regards to how they feed their children and families focusing on the benefits of a whole foods diet and avoiding processed foods. Read more...

Daily Adventure Camp at Tiger Hall

 

***What?: A 14 week long indoor/outdoor active and fun camp experience at Tiger Hall!

 

***When?: Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 through Friday, September 3rd, 2010 (14 weeks)

 

***Where?: 53 State Road, Downtown Princeton in conjunction with other public & kid-friendly outdoor venues

 

***Who?: All tots between the ages of 2.5 and 8 years of age

 

***Time?: Daily from 9:30 am* - 12:30 pm* (extended hours available; *please note slight change in time)

 

***What to Expect?: A nice balance between indoor and outdoor summer fun! Daily outings (wading pools, playgrounds, hiking trails) along with art sessions, silly science sessions, music sessions led by Kids MusicRound, fitness fun, free play, educational games, group activities and more.

 

 

***Policies: Siblings receive a 10% discount; 3 week minimum sign-up commitment required
(selected weeks do not have to be consecutive); 3 week deposit required to hold camp spot;
